The COCA-COLA Collection: The Vintage Vending Machine Edition

As we close the 20th century, COCA-COLA is the most recognizedable brand on the planet.

Apart from the cool, refreshing taste of COCA-COLA itself, one way that the Company grew so fast was with clever advertising and efficient distribution. The primary goal of any company is to get its products into the consumer's hands...and COCA-COLA did so exceptionally well. Throughout the years, COCA-COLA developed a series of vending machines that not only provided bottles (and, later, cans) to the customer, but also reinforced the COCA-COLA brand identity with its clever slogans, familiar script trademark and bright graphics.

One such popular vending machine was the Vendo Standard 1941. One of the first coin-operated machines, it featured electric refrigeration. It held 39 bottles and was equipped with an electric "spin top" where customers got their ice-cold bottles of COKE. This vintage vending machine commands a very high price today - if you can find a collector willing to part with one of the few that still exist.

Now, the valuable 1941 Vendo appears on the sides of a 1932 Ford Model AA die-cast model. Decorated with the phrase "The Best Friend Thirst Ever Had," your model is produced by Matchbox Collectibles.
